교정본
I try to enjoy reading books, especially on my spare time like commuting time on the subway and the time just before falling asleep in bed. Frankly speaking, I’m occasionally challenged to secure time only for reading, but I intend to do so when I need to read a book to the end with enough time.
I prefer genres such as literature and self-development. When I dive deeply into the imaginative scenarios of a novel, I feel like I’m living another person’s life. This way, I can amplify my perspective through vivid and indirect experiences. Additionally, I’m the type of person who struggles to develop myself constantly. Thus, I always have a willingness to read books related to the field where I work.
I have recently started to read a novel written by Han Kang, who is the first Korean Nobel Prize winner in literature. The novel is “Greek Class,” which is a story about a verbally challenged woman and a visually challenged man who fall in love through a coincidental meeting in a Greek class. Since I’m still reading it, I don’t know the conclusion of their relationship. I want to read the whole story to the end as soon as I can.

오늘의 노트
- HIGHLIGHT:
Present Perfect (Have vs. Recently): The phrase "I recently started" should be in the present perfect tense ("have recently started") because the action started in the past and continues into the present. Present perfect emphasizes that the action is relevant to the current moment.
Name Spelling (Han Gang vs. Han Kang): The original sentence contains a spelling error in the name "Han Gang." The correct spelling is "Han Kang," a well-known author.
Comma Placement (After Greek Class): The comma should be inside the quotation marks in American English, so it should be placed after "Greek Class," not outside the quotation marks. This follows the standard punctuation rule.
Preposition Choice (Via vs. Through): "Via" is somewhat formal and can sound awkward in this context. "Through" is more natural and commonly used to describe the way something happens, especially in a more casual context like falling in love.
Verb Tense (Since I Have Been Still Reading vs. Since I’m Still Reading It): "Have been still reading" is grammatically awkward. The corrected version, "I’m still reading it," uses the present continuous tense to clearly express that the action is ongoing in the present.
Word Choice (Relation vs. Relationship): "Relation" refers to a connection or association, but "relationship" specifically refers to a personal, emotional connection between people, which is more appropriate here.
- EXAMPLES:
- I have recently started to read a novel written by Han Kang, not Han Gang, who is the first Korean Nobel Prize winner in literature.
- The novel is called “Greek Class,” not “Greek Class”, which is a story about a verbally challenged woman and a visually challenged man who fall in love through a coincidental meeting in a Greek class.
- Since I'm still reading it, I don’t know the conclusion of their relationship.

I enjoy reading books, especially during my free time like when I'm on the subway or just before going to bed. Sometimes, it's hard to find time to read, but I try to make time to finish a book when I really like it.
I like reading literature and self-development books. When I get lost in a novel's world, it feels like I am living someone else's life, which gives me new perspectives. I also enjoy books that help me grow as a person, especially ones related to my job.
