As a foreigner, they should be used to living in Korea while speaking Korean and understanding the cultural aspects. Therefore, the education and training are important for the foreign workers to be adapted to the society where they live.

Rural farms have experienced a labor shortage in these days. The main cause of this issue is that Korean young people don’t want to go to rural areas to work on farms. Even if they would hire more foreign workers than the local workers, they can make a balance between them because the labor shortage in the domestic human resource market for agriculture was already serious.

They should prepare the infrastructure for the foreign workers, such as accommodations, language training, salary, etc. While being supported under the public programs, they can make profits stably. However, the programs can disappear at any time for some reasons. Hence, the farming sector must cope with the circumstance where no public sector doesn’t support agriculture for employing foreign workers.
