The Korean economy has been through the Low Growth Era for two decades. Therefore, most citizens can’t recognize the benefits of economic growth. In addition, the prices of products in many markets have been increasing dramatically year by year. On the other hand, the pace of wage increases is not as fast as that of item prices.

Since I have been subscribing to many OTT platforms, I can clearly notice the increase in subscription fees every year. On top of that, whenever I compare product prices in supermarkets with past prices, I can see the gap due to inflation.

I feel scared that prices in Korean markets are vulnerable to global markets. This is mainly because most companies in Korea make profits by importing raw materials and exporting their products. From time to time, due to some international diplomatic reasons, the level of inflation has been skyrocketing.

The Korean economy has been kinda slow for the last twenty years. Because of this, most people don’t really feel the good stuff that comes with economic growth. Plus, prices for things we buy keep going up a lot each year. But, wages are not increasing as fast as prices, which is a bummer.

I've been using a bunch of streaming platforms, and I've definitely noticed that the subscription fees go up every year. Also, when I check prices at supermarkets compared to before, it’s clear that inflation is making things way more expensive.

It kinda freaks me out that prices here seem so affected by what happens in other countries. A lot of companies in Korea make money by bringing in raw materials and sending out finished products. Sometimes, because of international issues, inflation just goes through the roof!
