A few years ago, there was a Go match between a human, Lee Se-dol, and an AI, AlphaGo. Before then, I had never thought that AI could beat human beings in any sector, but the reality was the reverse of my thoughts. Even though Lee Se-dol was defeated by AlphaGo, he showed human smarts against an artificial system, as he scored one game in the Go match.

I believe that virtual reality can be a field of sports in the future. As it replaces the things in the real world, it can be an economical substitute for any sort of sport. The players will be able to overcome the physical obstacles in reality while enjoying the games in virtual places where there aren’t limitations for the realization.

Even though Lee Se-dol lost to AlphaGo, he still showed how smart humans are by winning one game in the match.

I think virtual reality could be a big deal in sports moving forward. It’s like having a real-world experience with none of the physical restrictions. Players could enjoy games in virtual spaces without the usual limits!
