When I was about to take an online test, I was tempted to cheat. There was no one in charge of monitoring the examinees because the exam was treated as a personal test taken at home. Frankly speaking, I cheated on this test by referencing a lot of guided content from former students.

Since it was not a competition against colleagues I could meet in person, I didn’t feel guilty about cheating. Moreover, I had never taken any online classes before taking the test, so I decided to cheat.

In the case of adolescent students, adults around them want them to succeed in their tests, which creates pressure to achieve a good score, even through unethical methods like cheating. Additionally, they may not have learned enough about the basic social rules they should follow during an exam.

Because I wasn't competing with classmates I knew, I didn't feel bad about cheating. Also, since I hadn't done online classes before, I thought it was okay to cheat.

When young students are in this situation, adults around them really want them to do well in their tests. This can make them feel like they must get high scores, even if it means cheating. Besides, they might not have learned all the important rules for behaving during a test.
